The state-owned util\u00adi\u00adty, which was found\u00aded in 1946, equipped more than 2,000 trans\u00adform\u00aders with online DGA sen\u00adsors. For the per\u00adsons respon\u00adsi\u00adble, it was clear that con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00adous mon\u00adi\u00adtor\u00ading of the trans\u00adformer oil would allow them to detect impend\u00ading dam\u00adage to the wind\u00adings ear\u00adly on. They assumed that this step had made their trans\u00adform\u00aders a great deal safer. But this was not the case.<br>\n<br>\n<\/p><figure id=\"attachment_5818\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5818\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5818 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/onload.reinhausen.com\/de\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2020\/12\/Fortune-Electric-Taiwan.jpg\" alt width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5818\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The project team of For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric with Ian Chen (right) and Kent Yang (cen\u00adter).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kent Yang, Depart\u00adment Man\u00adag\u00ader at For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric, a man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ader of pow\u00ader and dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion trans\u00adform\u00aders in Tai\u00adwan which also helps TPC to equip its trans\u00adform\u00aders, explains: \u201cThe sen\u00adsor dis\u00adplays quick\u00adly start\u00aded break\u00ading, false alarms and oth\u00ader mal\u00adfunc\u00adtions were hap\u00adpen\u00ading every day, and main\u00adte\u00adnance costs sky-rock\u00adet\u00aded.\u201d In short, the \u201csmoke gas detec\u00adtors\u201d were use\u00adless.<\/p>\n<h2>More certainty<\/h2>\n<p>As the errors were pil\u00ading up, TPC attend\u00aded a prod\u00aduct pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion where they learned about the new sen\u00adsor that MESSKO had launched on the mar\u00adket, MSENSE\u00ae DGA 3. This sen\u00adsor detects the hydro\u00adgen con\u00adtent (which indi cates ther\u00admal and elec\u00adtri\u00adcal faults in the wind\u00adings), the car\u00adbon monox\u00adide con\u00adtent (which is an indi\u00adca\u00adtor for the wear lev\u00adels of the insu\u00adlat\u00ading paper), and the mois\u00adture con\u00adtent in the oil. This makes it pos\u00adsi\u00adble to draw con\u00adclu\u00adsions about the oil qual\u00adi\u00adty. And that is exact\u00adly what TPC need\u00aded.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cTPC was now able to detect changes in indi\u00advid\u00adual gas\u00ades much more accu\u00adrate\u00adly. Fur\u00adther\u00admore, the soft\u00adware pro\u00advides TPC with a bet\u00adter under\u00adstand\u00ading of the his\u00adtoric devel\u00adop\u00adment of the mea\u00adsured val\u00adues.\u201d<cite>Ian Chen, Project man\u00adag\u00ader at For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Because the pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly installed sen\u00adsors had only mea\u00adsured the total dis\u00adsolved com\u00adbustible gas (TDCG), thus giv\u00ading an impre\u00adcise pic\u00adture. And so curios\u00adi\u00adty had been piqued, the will to change man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00aders was present, and after suc\u00adcess\u00adful cer\u00adti\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtion by TPC, For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric could start with the instal\u00adla\u00adtion. For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric pur\u00adchased MSENS\u00ae DGA from MESSKO and sold the devices to TPC. The respon\u00adsi\u00adble project man\u00adag\u00ader at For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric, Ian Chen, said of the results, \u201cTPC was now able to detect changes in indi\u00advid\u00adual gas\u00ades much more accu\u00adrate\u00adly. Fur\u00adther\u00admore, the soft\u00adware pro\u00advides TPC with a bet\u00adter under\u00adstand\u00ading of the his\u00adtoric devel\u00adop\u00adment of the mea\u00adsured val\u00adues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the mean\u00adtime, with the help of For\u00adtune Elec\u00adtric, TPC has already equipped 200 trans\u00adform\u00aders with MSENSE\u00ae DGA 3. Replac\u00ading the sen\u00adsors is extreme\u00adly sim\u00adple because it is pos\u00adsi\u00adble dur\u00ading active oper\u00ada\u00adtion. \u201cWe received excel\u00adlent sup\u00adport through\u00adout the entire project. Rein\u00adhausen helped us and TPC with the con\u00adfig\u00adu\u00adra\u00adtion and cal\u00adi\u00adbra\u00adtion and per\u00adformed tests.
