Build\u00ading on these, Rein\u00adhausen has now brought the high-pow\u00ader charg\u00ader GRIDCON\u00ae HPC to the mar\u00adket. This rapid DC charg\u00ading sys\u00adtem uses gal\u00advan\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly iso\u00adlat\u00aded AC\/DC con\u00advert\u00aders to enable intel\u00adli\u00adgent load man\u00adage\u00adment, the set\u00adup of indi\u00advid\u00adual DC grids and even the con\u00adnec\u00adtion to exter\u00adnal DC grids. We spoke with Hol\u00adger Kret\u00adzschmar, head of sales for this prod\u00aduct seg\u00adment, and dis\u00adcussed the advan\u00adtages that come from the direct cou\u00adpling of charg\u00ading sta\u00adtions and bat\u00adtery stor\u00adage units.<br>\n<\/p>\n<h3>Mr. Kretzschmar, what is special about Reinhausen\u2019s strategy for charging infrastructure?<\/h3>\n<p>From the begin\u00adning, we set the goal of cre\u00adat\u00ading the most effi\u00adcient sys\u00adtem pos\u00adsi\u00adble, with which we can keep the num\u00adber of con\u00adver\u00adsions between DC and AC cur\u00adrent as low as pos\u00adsi\u00adble and which is simul\u00adta\u00adne\u00adous\u00adly equipped for the chal\u00adlenges of the future.<\/p>\n<h3>Which challenges do you mean specifically?<\/h3>\n<p>In order to lead the dynam\u00adic start of E\u2011mo-bil\u00adi\u00adty, charg\u00ading infra\u00adstruc\u00adture will need to be scaled mas\u00adsive\u00adly in the com\u00ading years both through many more charg\u00ading points and also through high\u00ader out\u00adputs for busses and cars up to the MW range. In this phase, it becomes sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant\u00adly more about high\u00adly effi\u00adcient solu\u00adtions and max\u00adi\u00admum flex\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty. If you car\u00adry this to its log\u00adi\u00adcal con\u00adclu\u00adsion, you inevitably come to \u201clocal DC grids\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNew approach\u00ades are need\u00aded to cou\u00adple DC charg\u00ading tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy with renew\u00adable ener\u00adgy pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and buffer stor\u00adage.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>GGRIDCON\u00ae HPC is a charg\u00ading sta\u00adtion with a con\u00adnec\u00adtion to the AC grid on the one hand, but it can also pro\u00advide a DC grid for oth\u00ader charg\u00ading sta\u00adtions and for con\u00adnect ing ener\u00adgy accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtors and PV sys\u00adtems at the same time. The con\u00adnec\u00adtion to the AC grid can be flex\u00adi\u00adbly dimen\u00adsioned or even omit\u00adted entire\u00adly in cer\u00adtain cas\u00ades.<\/p>\n<p>This opens up many pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties. On the prod\u00aduct side, this type of set\u00adup can achieve an enor\u00admous effi\u00adcien\u00adcy increase. This is because, no mat\u00adter where you get your ener\u00adgy in the future, whether from a solar sys\u00adtem, tem\u00adpo\u00adrary stor\u00adage in a bat\u00adtery unit, or from an AC or DC grid, you will only ever need a max\u00adi\u00admum of two con\u00adver\u00adsion stages. Anoth\u00ader advan\u00adtage of the Rein\u00adhausen archi\u00adtec\u00adture is that it can be inte\u00adgrat\u00aded into DC grids or can be used to set up inde\u00adpen\u00addent DC grids using the inte\u00adgrat\u00aded invert\u00ader.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The flex\u00adi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of the sys\u00adtem also helps the ener\u00adgy sup\u00adply grid, which is becom\u00ading increas\u00ading\u00adly strained. Using bidi\u00adrec\u00adtion\u00adal invert\u00aders, we can relieve weak grids dur\u00ading peaks or sup\u00adply them with solar pow\u00ader and even achieve a sta\u00adbi\u00adliz\u00ading effect on grid faults. This reduces the costs for grid expan\u00adsion. All of this helps our cus\u00adtomers achieve more eco\u00adnom\u00adi\u00adcal oper\u00ada\u00adtion or even new busi\u00adness mod\u00adels.<\/p>\n<h3>What options do you see here?<\/h3>\n<p>For one, local\u00adly pro\u00adduced renew\u00adable ener\u00adgy can be sold direct\u00adly to E\u2011mobility cus\u00adtomers with sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant\u00adly high\u00ader mar\u00adgins than pur\u00adchased elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty from the AC grid. A buffer stor\u00adage unit can also be used for this, of course, in order to get afford\u00adable ener\u00adgy from the grid in times of excess pow\u00ader, for exam\u00adple, and lat\u00ader feed it back into the grids at a high\u00ader price.<\/p>\n<p>With the same log\u00adic, thanks to our com\u00adplete\u00adly bidi\u00adrec\u00adtion\u00adal charg\u00ading sys\u00adtems, even the unused bat\u00adtery capac\u00adi\u00adty of parked vehi\u00adcles, for exam\u00adple at a bus depot, can be used to do this.
