The part\u00adners of the Euro\u00adpean Com\u00adpos\u00adite Pylon (ECP) project erect\u00aded three util\u00adi\u00adty\u00adpoles in the new design at a dis\u00adtance of 350 meters from each oth\u00ader in this record time on test\u00ading grounds in Den\u00admark. The poles were devel\u00adoped as an alter\u00adna\u00adtive to steel-lat\u00adtice pylons in a project spon\u00adsored by the Euro\u00adpean Union and test\u00aded in the field for the first time in August after a two-year design phase. Pow\u00ader Com\u00adpos\u00adites (PC) con\u00adtributed the two 16-meter sup\u00adport arms for the Y\u2011shaped poles.

Dr. Matthias Domm, Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Project Man\u00adag\u00ader, explains, \u201cInstalling three con\u00adven\u00adtion\u00adal poles would have tak\u00aden more than a week. How\u00adev\u00ader, short instal\u00adla\u00adtion times are cru\u00adcial to the suc\u00adcess of the ener\u00adgy rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion. To get it done, new pow\u00ader lines are need\u00aded urgent\u00adly.\u201d The new util\u00adi\u00adty poles are only half as tall as before, thus mak\u00ading a much small\u00ader mark on the land\u00adscape. As a result, the pub\u00adlic should be more accept\u00ading of new lines and the approval process should go more quick\u00adly.<\/p>\n

The sup\u00adport arms of the util\u00adi\u00adty poles, con\u00adsist\u00ading of hol\u00adlow com\u00adpos\u00adite insu\u00adla\u00adtors with a sil\u00adi\u00adcone shield sleeve, were devel\u00adoped by Rein\u00adhausen Pow\u00ader Com\u00adpos\u00adites and pro\u00adduced by Rein\u00adhausen France.
