Repairs to cable systems are associated with high cost and time factors. In order to control proper cable production and assembly after installation, a standard-compliant, high-voltage test is therefore carried out after final assembly.<\/h3>\n<hr class=\"yellow\">\n<p><span class=\"initial\">I<\/span>n the course of main\u00adte\u00adnance and net\u00adwork expan\u00adsion, high-per\u00adfor\u00admance pow\u00ader engi\u00adneer\u00ading com\u00adpo\u00adnents are upgrad\u00aded and new ones are built. At the Lichter\u00adfelde com\u00adbined heat and pow\u00ader plant in Berlin, the grid con\u00adnec\u00adtion is real\u00adized by means of 110 kV cable sys\u00adtems. The net\u00adwork oper\u00ada\u00adtor Strom\u00adnetz Berlin wants to expand its infra\u00adstruc\u00adture in order to be able to reli\u00adably sup\u00adply the Ger\u00adman cap\u00adi\u00adtal with elec\u00adtri\u00adcal ener\u00adgy in the future. In doing so, grid oper\u00ada\u00adtors in Ger\u00admany are fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adly faced with a major chal\u00adlenge: the grid must both sup\u00adply the grow\u00ading demand for elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty as well as inte\u00adgrate the volatile decen\u00adtral\u00adized ener\u00adgy pro\u00adduc\u00aders in a sta\u00adble man\u00adner.
