How nice it would be to have a system that closely monitors the cable routes and provides recommendations for action to reduce these costs. HIGHVOLT has a solution for this that can also be retrofitted.<\/h3>\n<hr class=\"yellow\">\n<p><span class=\"initial\">T<\/span>he ener\u00adgy tran\u00adsi\u00adtion can only suc\u00adceed with high\u00ader trans\u00admis\u00adsion capac\u00adi\u00adties. But com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties and res\u00adi\u00addents often oppose the erec\u00adtion of high-volt\u00adage pylons in their neigh\u00adbor\u00adhoods, and peti\u00adtions, polit\u00adi\u00adcal con\u00adflicts and long law\u00adsuits are often the result. Matthias Kap\u00adpler, HiMON\u00ae project man\u00adag\u00ader, explains: \u201cHiMAG\u00ae Red is respon\u00adsi\u00adble for detect\u00ading the trav\u00adel\u00ading waves\u2014also known as tran\u00adsients \u2014 caused by cable break\u00addowns in order to deter\u00admine the point of ori\u00adgin.\u201d For this pur\u00adpose, a HiMAG\u00ae Red sen\u00adsor with an asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded HiRES\u00ae Loca\u00adtor event recorder is placed at the begin\u00adning and end of each cable sec\u00adtion. In addi\u00adtion, for the first time, HiMON\u00ae also allows the cable sec\u00adtions between the mea\u00adsur\u00ading points to be mon\u00adi\u00adtored with cen\u00adtime\u00adter-exact accu\u00adra\u00adcy. If the traf\u00adfic light turns red, HiMON\u00ae shows fur\u00adther details about the prob\u00adlem such as which cable com\u00adpo\u00adnent is affect\u00aded, or the inten\u00adsi\u00adty of the par\u00adtial dis\u00adcharges. \u201cThe sys\u00adtem can record very pre\u00adcise\u00adly where and in what inten\u00adsi\u00adty par\u00adtial dis\u00adcharges occur, from which clear rec\u00adom\u00admen\u00adda\u00adtions for action can be derived,\u201d Keller explains.
