SOLAR MEGA PARK

One of the largest solar parks in the world is locat­ed in the Jodh­pur dis­trict of the north­ern Indi­an state of Rajasthan. With an area of almost 57 square kilo­me­ters, it gen­er­ates about 2,245 megawatts of elec­tric­i­ty. The region is con­sid­ered near­ly unin­hab­it­able due to its hot tem­per­a­tures and strong winds. Inci­den­tal­ly, in 2020, India gen­er­at­ed more elec­tric­i­ty in total than it need­ed itself.
