Dear read­ers,

I wouldn’t have imag­ined that one day the active fil­ters that we pro­vide as part of our Pow­er Qual­i­ty busi­ness area would be the rea­son that the Ger­man coast­guard is able to oper­ate its ships reli­ably. This makes the arti­cle on that sub­ject in this new edi­tion of ONLOAD all the more excit­ing.

Anoth­er fea­ture that I find fas­ci­nat­ing is our inter­view on elec­tro­mo­bil­i­ty with the major Ger­man ener­gy provider E.ON. Based on a recent study, E.ON’s experts can say with a high degree of cer­tain­ty that their dis­tri­b­u­tion net­works are well equipped to meet the demands of elec­tro­mo­bil­i­ty, thanks in part to the use of reg­u­lat­ed trans­form­ers. Smart equip­ment makes the net­works suit­able for wide­spread elec­tric car charg­ing.

On the sub­ject of net­work oper­a­tion, we are cur­rent­ly work­ing on a new inno­va­tion in col­lab­o­ra­tion with PSI Soft­ware AG. From 2020, it will be pos­si­ble to over­load trans­former fleets in a tar­get­ed man­ner. By com­bin­ing con­trol sys­tem soft­ware from PSI with our own ETOS® sys­tem for data col­lec­tion, we can achieve high­er net­work uti­liza­tion while pro­tect­ing the trans­former.
