Editorial

Dear Onload Readers,

The year 2026 promises to be full of challenges. Despite geopolitical tensions, the energy transition and the electrification of energy applications

continue to advance globally. And Reinhausen has a milestone birthday coming up: 100 years ago, the tap changer with the high-speed resistance switching principle was patented–a decisive milestone in our company’s history.

Our success and growth in recent years are based on continuous innovation, which has enabled us to maintain our position as the global market leader. 25 years ago, we introduced low-maintenance vacuum switching technology, which now dominates the market. For 10 years, ECOTAP® VPD® has been meeting the growing demand for voltage stabilization in distribution networks. In this issue, you will learn how the switch can be used to optimize the operation and efficiency of photovoltaic systems and what role this solution plays in ensuring security of supply in hospitals.

With the VACUTAP® VI, we are once again expanding our portfolio with an innovative tap changer that focuses on sustainability and low resource consumption. We also contribute to voltage stability beyond tap changers. For example, with our GRIDCON® STATCOM MMC, which requires a remarkably small space..

Our plant expansions in Regensburg, Suzhou (China), Humboldt (USA), and at our subsidiary HIGHVOLT in Dresden are also noteworthy. With record investments, we are significantly expanding capacities, reducing our delivery times, and thus staying ahead of the wave of rising demand.

Stay connected with us, and I hope you enjoy reading this issue.

Yours sincerely,

Wilfried Breuer
