This small sensor from the MSENSE® FO system has to endure a lot. It measures the temperature of the windings in the transformer in real time — temperatures which can climb to 160 °C. Yet thanks to fiber-optic cables and special materials, the sensor can easily manage this and integrates perfectly into the value chain. The data that the sensor acquires is particularly valuable.
When the sensor is connected to the ETOS® control and monitoring system, algorithms developed by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen can be used to precisely regulate the temperature in the power transformer. This is especially important in critical applications or if the transformer is to be subjected to dynamic overloads.
