Editorial

Dear Readers,

As 2024 draws to a close, it is time to reflect and prepare for the year ahead. For example, in regard to the US, where the renewal of power grid assets and the expansion of solar and wind power, as well as battery storage and data centers, is driving demand at new levels.

Just in time, we are launching our new ETOS® MD IV motor drive which, in addition to optional digital functions, also offers flexible control cabinet configuration, thus making it an ideal solution for retrofitting. All components are manufactured in the US by our subsidiary Reinhausen Manufacturing Inc. and production capacity at the plant in Humboldt, Tennessee was increased by 45 percent capacity this summer to meet the record demand for bolt-on tap-changers.

Our plants for in-tank OLTCs in Suzhou and Regensburg have also reached record output in 2024, although this still falls short of market expectations. For some products we are experiencing unfavorably long delivery times, which we no longer wish to accept in the future. In 2025 we will therefore add 25 percent more capacity to the Regensburg plant and may even double the number of locally assembled OLTCs in Suzhou, China, as we expect the global power transformer market to continue growing.

I would like to thank all our customers for their patience and loyalty in this situation. Rest assured that our top priority is to return to acceptable delivery times for all our products. I am confident that this issue of ONLOAD has something to offer everyone in the industry, and we will remain your POWER behind POWER in 2025.

I wish you a peaceful end of the year.

Your Wilfried Breuer,
Managing Director of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen
