It works. Grid nodes for the energy transition

© Amprion

In Lingen-Hanekenfähr in northern Germany, transmission system operator Amprion is building the most powerful grid node in Germany, to be completed by 2029. The phase-shifting transformer shown here, which weighs several tons, is one of two that will play a decisive role in the future energy transition.

The system will soon be distributing the huge amounts of electricity generated by North Sea offshore wind farms, and optimizing load flows to keep redispatch costs as low as possible. Amprion is thus making an important contribution to a climate-neutral and secure energy system as well as an affordable electricity supply. And Reinhausen? We ensure maximum reliability of the system with our on-load tap-changers. Read more in the next issue of ONLOAD.
