A Place for Innovation

Welcome to the Synergy Center—the place where collaboration and innovation take place at the highest level. This is where customers and MR experts come together to develop pioneering transformer solutions.

Technology meets tradition. This is how you could describe the Synergy Center’s new home because, after moving in August 2024, the innovative center is now located in MR’s oldest building in Regensburg. However, you can’t tell how old it is: it has been freshly renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art media technology, from augmented reality to laser projectors. Thorsten Krüger, Head of Market Intelligence and Business Development, who designed the new Synergy Center, is delighted with the many opportunities for collaboration: “The room concept is very flexible. This means we can offer everything from confidential strategy meetings to interactive workshops with larger groups, depending on our customers’ wishes.”

The aim is clear: to create synergies between MR and its customers. On the one hand, the center is set up like an exhibition that makes MR’s product portfolio tangible. Fully functional models, including an almost life-size transformer, bring complex technologies to life. On the other hand, it is a place where customers, who bring their practical challenges–for example critical operating cases–can sit around a table with MR experts from various business areas, who bring their technical know-how. This exchange then produces new solutions or even new products.

Hands-on portfolio: The exhibits include products from the various MR business units and thus show MR’s entire range of services and solutions — although the focus is always on the customer’s perspective: What is the real use in practice? What do customers require and demand? How can MR provide support?

Look in not just at: Projectors make the internal components of the almost life-size transformer model visible, allowing Thorsten Krüger and his colleagues to simulate critical operating cases, for example. In this way, the practical experience of customers and the knowledge of MR experts give rise to new solutions and innovations for the MR products of the future.

For the synergy effect: Eating, drinking and tinkering together: This is important for collaboration. The workshop area offers enough space for this. This is where processes are developed and new solutions are found — tailored to the needs of customers and with the right support from the relevant areas at MR.
