Reinhausen ebnet OEMs den Weg zum digitalen Transformator.
For transformer manufacturers, it’s currently all about getting fit for the future. “The digitalization of transformers is the key to this,” says Sebastian Hilmer, who heads a team of six specialists as Head of Cooperations at Reinhausen. The team focuses exclusively on supporting OEMs in the development of intelligent transformers. The basis for each individual solution is the ETOS® open automation solution based on the ISM® platform.
“We help OEMs to stand out from the competition.”
Sebastian Hilmer, Head of Cooperations
The advance of the energy transition is making grids increasingly volatile while, at the same time, the infrastructure is aging. Since the pressure on manufacturers in terms of performance, reliability and operating costs is increasing, in the future, it will be increasingly important to get the most out of the fleet. “Now is the right time for smaller and medium-sized transformer manufacturers in particular to invest in their future,” Hilmer explains. To this end, MR has developed the ISM® drive and digitalization solution as an open, manufacturer-independent platform, and also provides support in engineering, design and process management. Hilmercontinues: “As a partner, we thus pave the way for OEMs to clearly stand out from the competition with their own intelligent transformers, thereby improving their market positions.”
Open Operating System for the Transformer oft he Future
The team responds to the needs of the OEMs and develops solutions tailored to them. For example, the OEM is free to use the cooperation to introduce its own monitoring system “digitalized by ISM®” to the market or to expand its in-house monitoring system with the MR operating system. Sebastian Hilmer says: “The switch to an intelligent transformer is thus quite simple. We offer everything it takes: software, hardware and process support.”
REINHAUSEN INSIDE
The ETOS® automation solution uses sensors to record all relevant operating data of the power transformer, evaluates the data and then helps to plan operation and maintenance in a targeted manner. ETOS® is designed as an open, white-label-capable system to which sensors from all manufacturers can be connected. ETOS® is based on MR’s ISM® hardware and software platform. Cooperation partners can market the ISM® platform under their own name and thus have an individual operating system with which they stand out from the market without any development effort.
